Yes keen to do this, left it in oakhurst with merchant house(mother of children we rescued) ,intend on getting in contact with grundles blacksmith brother and utilizing forge in echo cave, sacrificing 200xp.

I seem to have forgotten about your green dragon hide. Were you going to go through with this? Where is the dragon scale? I think you dropped it with a smith. Oakhurst OR Phandalin?

i did not realize it would be worth that much, shocking :), but that 200XP seems reasonable. work towards it over the next couple of sessions. i probable should get a back up character organised.

Magical dragon scale mail is a very rare item.

That is going to cost 20,000 gps & 25 workweeks to create once you have the rare item (which you do).

Going to need to pay top level smith(s) and magic-user(s).

I reckon I would allow the infusion of your own power (using XP) too. For our current XP system (and the fact I am stingy on gold) I would allow you to sacrifice 1 XP = 1,000. (That is still 200 XP or 2 levels in our system. That sounds fair to me ;)).

And yes, I would allow a combination of the two :)

Does not require XP. You have the 'exotic material' already. I am reading Crafting an Item - Magic Items from the Downtime activities (Xanathar's Guide to Everything chapter 2). Does cost a lot of gold though. (Maybe some can be replaced with XP - I too like the idea of your own blood and power going into item ;)).

It will require someone with proficiency in Smith's tools so many weeks (depending upon the item rarity). I would also say someone with the arcana proficiency would need to be present for some of that creation.

When I get home, I will be able to check the rarity in the DMG, as I know there IS dragon armor in there.

On a story note, not that it might worry Katar too much, but remember Dragons are the 'rulers' of the isles. You are in an area where dragonborn do not dominate, but their empire to the south (Arkhosia) venerate dragons. Though, being an evil one, I am sure it will only bother Tiamat followers - but you are likely to draw even more heat from draconic enemies ;)

hi,
i recall years ago bush stalker was able to create a flametongue spear by sacrificing (i think) XP
keen to do something similar.
