Neither quite do what you were talking about (interposing yourself to protect ally), but both would certainly ADD to that style :)

The Warmain subclass I developed is also a bit of a protector. Again, you don't interpose, but you do move enemies around, which can push them away from allies. (Combined with Shield Master too, you get more movement).

I like what it is trying to do. I have a few little issues with some of the features - it's not that they're overpowered, it's just they do things that don't gel or a little complicated.

If you choose the right options it will be fine though :)

Second read - I do have concerns with these features regarding anyone near you. If I was to do a Warden class (and I thought I had written something like this), I would simply state you had to choose your ward, not anyone near you. It is fine, but you would still have to be aware of those attacks. :)
