OK, so over the holiday period I would love to spend some prep time getting ready for a game, but don't want to waste time on a campaign that we won't play.

So… I especially want to know from Blair/Amanda. When we are together do we continue this game and get Amanda to create a character (or play Nicko's, though I am sure she prefers the latter) OR do we start a new one?

Maybe we could do both. Blair mentioned running Descent into Avernus. We could do that when Amanda is there and Waves of Destiny when she is not.

I am not sure, but want to know what to prep.

Angus prefers to keep playing Waves of Destiny, so at this stage I am not dropping it and can keep as a backup, but do people want this to stay main campaign or do something different when Amanda is in. Obviously, I would really like Blair to ask for Amanda's preferences too - and I do not mind at all what she chooses :)

If we go to Descent into Avernus can we get going on it? Get Blair to start prep, get a website, let us see what races etc and start PCs.

In any case, I want to prep something too.

So, for every new Relationship dice you are also considered +1 rank in any organisation with which you have Renown.

I have been inspired by the Strongholds & Followers book, but also the guilds in the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica.

I am thinking of features that you may get with each rank in your relationships, just like you get features for every rank/level of your stronghold. Obviously these are only for people with positive relations ;)

So, I am asking a favour for writing/planning purposes. Can each player put down their current Renown if it is 3 or higher (Rank1). Obviously, I am more interested in organisations, but might be able to come up with features for other relationships. Can also lead to specialised positions within some organisations.

(I have put Todd down as an eg).

OK, some of you may have noticed that I have done an Iomandra Religion Page.

So, now the deities are in one place. (I still have to add the Bael Nerath/Elven 'add-on' pantheon).

But this thread is in the hope of adding to my possible PC-based encounters. I can open PC sheets etc, but for now could people add their deity info to this thread and I will adjust table. Thanks.

Character

God(s) worshipped

Other relevant deities

Katar

Bahamut

Also respects Corellon.
I know Downtime was one of your 'themes' that you would like to explore, but I seem to have you under the pump and you are on missions with the 'ticking clock'. Still have to find Gundren ;)

There will be some Downtime ahead. I will get that in there somehow ;)

BUT, you don't have to ALL go on every mission. Maybe we can use this to 'sub out' players that are not present. So, if you all indicate the Downtime activity that you would like to do then we can just assume you are doing that off stage :)

OR, you create a 2nd PC, and then one can go Downtiming whilst your other is with party. Sometimes you may have 2 PCs like Shane. Easier to drop one for a while then.

Up to you guys, just some thoughts (& backing up about what I am about t post on Ballarat Games forum).

Angus has been busy. he has also created minis for this group based upon pics on PC Page.

They look great. I'll post them to PC Page when he is done :)

Again, if interested in them let us know. Inc changes.

OR tell us if you would rather do your own. We are keeping all these for when we get a 3-D printer. We intend to then print AND paint them for the characters. I would recon all up ~$20 for each fully done PC? ($10 for the module code, $10 for Angus's trouble, printing & painting).

A great way to get a one-off model of your mini though. Wouldn't do it often, but for PCs and unique villains, this is cool.

Thanks to those that have included their subclasses on PC Sheets - even if you have not attained that subclass yet. It does help for planning and the 'story' side of how you get that subclass. Some of them would require for you to meet the right people/organisation etc in the world. That is why I like our Relationship & Renown stuff. Eg: Coronal Guard of Cendriane = Eldritch Knight fighter subclass.

Current Party Subclasses
Darus - (Cleric): Water at 1st level.
Katar - (Fighter): Eldritch Knight at 3rd level; (Wizard) Abjurer at 2nd level.
Kavae'lee - (Sorcerer) Wild magic at 1st level.
Lugh - (Bard): College of Lore at 3rd level.
Todd - (Rogue): Thief at 3rd level.

(Man, that is a pretty magical party! Some of you ticked a higher level of magic for this campaign and it is already turning out that way ;)).

I notice some people inc stuff they are working towards on their PC sheets. I like to do that.

Note that you can also use the Gaming Goals section of the PC Page for that. Or ADD and Advancements section underneath so you don't have to reprint etc all the time.

In fact, I like going through all sourcebooks and any time I see something I like for my PC I put it here. For eg, keep a list of feats that appeal to me. then when i get one I roll random from the ones I've listed. Of course you don't have to roll, but can use the PC Page to keep these things.

In fact, have a look at these Star Wars PCs I did some time ago. For the PCs I was controlling I had outlined all the feats and talents to choose from.

It really helps when you read other books/sources and see something you like and don't want to forget it (or could not be bothered editing PC Sheet. :)

Okay - obviously I am not putting every minor realm in the side nav bar.

So to get to a page for a realm, you often have to go to larger realm and work through links on page to smaller one.

This may take some tracking down for a while, so a few quick hints for finding things quickly.

When writing your PCs, the Adv Log, etc. Whenever a place is mentioned type triple square brackets around the place name and it will become a link. I am calling pages exactly what the name is. See the Adventure Log I've started. It will be much easier if all realms (places and tribes etc) are written this way. Even if there is not yet a page for them - this creates a link to form a page :)

If you want to go straight to a page, go to address bar for website and type a backslash and then name of realm you are after. (If you do this, all lower case and link words with a hyphen). eg: /bael-nerath added to the site's address will take you there ;)

OK, 1 thing I liked that I did in 4E D&D was make quests explicit, inc assigning XP. I am going to do this again.

I often had these on many sticky notes on the DM screen, so players could seen them all the time. I may or may not do this, as I rarely use screens now, and I prob use for sev games.

Instead, I now place Quests on the Character Page. (1st one is up). These are the sorts of things to add to your own PC Sheets - if there are quests YOU want to complete.

So, as you will see there is already a quest up. Feel free to add some of your own (I will assign XP). Many ideas in your PC backgrounds AND in the rumours I recently sent out. These don't become quests until you actively want to do something about it.
