Thaloryn is the large landmass to the southeast of the city-states of Theros. It is known as a vast wilderness of scrubland, though there are several people that live in specific parts of the realm, it is not united as a nation. To those of Theros, the people of Thaloryn are strange and otherworldy. Not surprising when the land abounds with large people with one eye, burrowing halflings, people descended from demons, and angelic beings claiming to be spirits reincarnated.

In recent years, demons from jungle-lands beyond the eastern mountains have proven to be a real problem. No one knows what is driving them into Thaloryn, but the danger is growing.

PEOPLE
The most prominent people of Thaloryn are the cyclopeans. They live scattered in isolated poleis along the mountainous coastlines and within the Oraniad Mountains. Here they build grand columned structures and live a life of isolation, peace and study. Maeshar live around the coasts of the southern tip and trade with and abide by cyclopean rule where they dwell within their settlements. Given that both love art and and magic, the two people share ideas and ideals. Whilst many consider cyclopeans the epitome of learning, they themselves see the ibisils of the Lindus River as the most learned people in the lands. Cyclopeans are always trying to get the ibisils to visit their poleis and they are valued as wise advisors and teachers. The other bird-like folk of the region are not so revered. Thankfully, the kenku tribes are mostly limited to the north of the region and often form ghettos in mountainous cyclopean holds.
The deva are a people from the east and have become quite common in settlements in the east of Thaloryn over the last decade. They too are a peaceful people whose ideals mesh well with the cyclopeans. They came to warn the people of the demons of the east and prepare the people to fight them. Although the two do not get along, another people of the east have also come to Thaloryn in the time of the demon incursions. Tieflings can be feared as allies to the demons, but more often than not they are seen as an ally and perhaps an advantage in the war. Most are said to be descendents of unwilling arcane rituals performed by demonic lords.
Short, tribal folk, known as agogwe inhabit the scrub interior. They occassionally trade with other cultures or even seek them out for help. If a cyclopean settlment is near their lands, the agogwe usually look to them as their rulers, but can also be demanding of help. No one knows how many agogwe there are, but they could well be the most populous people of Thaloryn.
