A small, peaceful town across the bay from Meletis City, but still within the sway of that polis.
The town is idyllic with beatiful lagoons and is surrounded by lovely wooded hills and meadows.
COMMON KNOWLEDGE
Krimnos is sought out by many philosophers, especially those of the Anapsian School, whose leader and founder, Anapse, dwells here.
Being under Anapsian influence, the residents are typically freedom-loving, carefree folk that enjoy the pleasures of life. There are many food, wine and music festivals in the town.
Nylea is the favoured deity of the common people here, but many creative thinkers and wise philosophers of Keranos have also had a lot of influence in the town for a long time. In recent years, Heliod has established a strong foothold and soldiers from the capital often take up residence in his temple. Tensions have been growing as Heliod's followers stifle the exhuberant behaviour of the locals. A rivalry between Heliod's and Keranos's followers has led to open confrontation on more that one occasion too. Both are seen to be fighting for their footholds not only of the heights over Krimnos, but for the hearts and minds of its people.
REGIONAL FEATURES
Hypno's Crest
The small outcropping of white rock that watches over the township. Named for the oracle Hypnos who once dwelled on the heights and was able to allow people to converse with the gods by putting them into a slumber. The Temple of Keranos now sits just below the summit.
Shrine to Nylea
Nylea has long been favoured by the free-loving folk that established Krimnos, but more and more other faiths and and law-abiding (and enforcing) people keep enroaching on her followers. Nylea's shrine is a giant statue at the base of the ridge, her head and bow pointed towards Hypno's Crest.
Temple of Heliod
Built on the ridge overlooking the city, closer to the township than the temple of Keranos. The followers of Heliod frown upon the Temple of Keranos, being higher than their temple and see this as an afront. Feeling that Krimnos was in danger of becoming a lawless place, followers of Heliod recently built a temple on the heights above the town. For the most part they are here to enforce Meletis law, but their forceful ways have had them at odds with the populace. The temple also serves as a barracks for members of the Reverent Army that are based here. Riders of Heliod are often seen in the skies landing their winged mounts at the temple.
The current priest/general exerting her control over the town is Talaoni Syraphos. She is honest, brave and absolutely forthright in her belief Heliod is the leader of deities.
Temple of Keranos
This large temple of learning sits just below the top of Hypno's Crest. It has been here a lot longer than the recently built temple of Heliod further along the ridge, and the prirests and soldiers here take great delight in the fact it sits slightly higher than their rivals' building. Creative thinkers and inventers have often found a home in Krimnos and some decades ago, these followers of Keranos built a temple to the god here. For the most part, they fit in with the dominant crowd and many are also part of the Anapsian School.
PEOPLE
Krimnos has roughly the same spread of heritages as the rest of Meletis with humans being the dominant people, though satyrs are far more common than in other parts of the polis, and Lagonna centaurs visit frequently. A peacful tribe of tritons protect the coastline here and regularly mix with the residents.
Cyclopeans are never found here - they stick to the main centres of civilisation when they visit, though strangely, visiting devas and tieflings tend to find their way to Krimnos and a few have even taken up permanent residence.

Anapsian School
A hedonistic school based upon embracing the delights of life. Personal freedoms, but life lived in a benevolent manner, take precedence over tyranical laws. The founding philospher, Anapse, learnt a lot of his doctrine by spending much of his life among satyrs of the nearby woodlands. He is the leader of the town, but there is no formal title and he must obey the directives of any diplomats or generals posted here from Meletis.
There is no central building for Anapsian teachings; lessons take place in taverns, by streams, in the woodland meadows or by the seaside. Bards, artists, and entertainers are the teachers.
Nylea Religion
Being a member of this religion is very common for the established people of Krimnos. Nylea's way of life fits in with Anapsian thinking for the most part.
