Emerald Coast

In the far south, beyond the furtherest reaches of the Thornwaste and far to the southwest along the coast from New Turath lies this mostly unexplored land of primeval jungle. Jagged knolls rise from a lush green landscape and deep emerald waters. There is no known civilisation on the Emerald Coast other than isolated pockets of intelligent life ranging from tribal togruta of the pampas plains and jungles, to intelligent octopi in the waters, to savage minotaurs of the hills and a variety of gecko-like lizardfolk and another group of small, fast-running lizardfolk along the dry borders of the Thornwaste.

PEOPLE OF THE EMERALD COAST

The dominant heritage in the region are the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes of tiendarri. Their villages and encampments can be found along the coast, throughout the jungle valleys and in the pampas grasslands of the north.

Lizardfolk here are of a lighter gecko-based variety. Their colourful skins vary, depending upon where they live, from the browns of the desert-dwelling tribes, the brilliant greens of the jungle and blues of the coastal tribes. Most live in harmony with nature and enjoy few predators or rival species. They do clash with the small, fast-running species of lizardfolk raiders that live along the Thornwaste borders though. The two groups are very different people.

Enemies of all are the raging minotaurs that raid out of the hills and mountains. These minotaurs have not contained the savage beast within as many northern clans have. They are brutal raiders and likely servants of demon lords such as Baphomet.

Tako are intelligent octopuses that live in the lagoons and shallow coastal waters. They have always kept to themselves, but recently, they have established trade with coastal tiendarri

ADVENTURERS

Everyday life is an adventure in the Emerald Coast. Classes and concepts that favour nature and primal traditions are common throughout all the peoples here. Primal magic rules supreme, though the minotaurs practice demon worship. Unlike their neighbours in Turath, the people here rarely see or practice arcane magic - which is one of the main attractions that draws curious individuals of the Emerald Coast to the region.
